Overview
Teaching for the Institute of Reading Development is an intense, immersive and rewarding experience that provides an unparalleled opportunity to improve how readers of all ages experience books. The rigorous, challenging and dynamic nature of this experience gives individuals the opportunity to grow professionally and personally. Our teachers strengthen their teaching and leadership abilities, as well as their interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Institute teachers have a number of responsibilities during the summer: teaching students and parents, reviewing lesson plans and preparing to teach, managing teaching materials, driving to teaching sites, reporting key data online about their students, and actively communicating with their supervisor. Each of these duties is essential to providing students with the best service possible.
The Institute of Reading Development provides teachers with the support they need to successfully fulfill these responsibilities. We have a curriculum that meets the individual needs of students in each age group. We provide comprehensive training and ongoing supervision.
