Paul founded the Institute in 1971 and is responsible for service development. He is the author of The Literacy Hoax and Taking Books to Heart: How to Develop a Love of Reading in Your Child, and was a presidential appointee to the National Council on Educational Research.

Dave joined the Institute in 1982 and is responsible for business development. He has established and maintained the Institute's partnerships with colleges, universities, and municipalities.
