GoalsCurriculum Design & Instruction
Our curriculum design team, led by Institute founder and President Paul Copperman, provides teachers with field-tested lesson plans for each level and lesson. These lesson plans support teachers both as they prepare for classes and as they teach, providing explicit timelines and directions for running each class. The lesson plans represent both the collective expertise of our curriculum developers and the most up-to-date feedback from families, teachers, and our teaching management staff.
Paul Copperman is the author of The Literacy Hoax and Taking Books to Heart: How to Develop a Love of Reading in Your Child. Paul graduated Phi Beta Kappa in Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley, and received a M.Ed. from Lone Mountain College in San Francisco. He was appointed by President Reagan and confirmed by the United States Senate to serve as a Member of the National Council on Educational Research.
