Step 1: Online Application & Resume

The online application has four sections. In the first section, we will ask you to confirm your eligibility to teach for the Institute. In the second section you will provide basic contact and background information, including educational history. In the third section, you will answer the following questions in a short answer/essay format.

  • Please describe yourself as a reader and how you came to be one.
  • Please tell us about books or authors that have been particularly meaningful to you.
  • What influences and experiences have shaped your desire to teach? What role, if any, do you see teaching playing in your future?
  • Please describe your work ethic, and the influences that have shaped it.
  • Why are you applying to teach for the Institute this summer?

In the final section we will ask you to upload a current resume or c.v. in Microsoft Word or .rtf format.
The online application should take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. You will have the option to save your work should you need to do so, and you will receive an email from us confirming successful submission of your application. Most applications will be reviewed within 2-3 weeks of submission. Successful candidates will be contacted for a telephone interview with a teacher supervisor.
